Publish your writing
There are many digital and print resources for the aspiring author. Some resources may show you how to submit your writing to agents and publishers, and others will submit and publish your writing themselves. Look through the following resources to find the one that best meets your needs and your writing.

These print resources are available at the Shrewsbury Public library, but some have online components as well.
Writer’s Market
Reference book published annually. Includes tools and tips plus, “complete, up-to-date contact information and submission guidelines for more than 3,500 market listings, including literary agents, book publishers, magazines, newspapers, production companies, theaters, greeting card companies, and more.”

Merlyn's Pen
The oldest organization devoted to publishing the works of teenagers, grade 6-12. It is now an online library and accepts fiction, essays & poetry each season. Check out the website for great examples and tips as well.

The Marble Collection publishes the Massachusetts High School Magazine of the Arts, featuring artwork, photography, poetry, and writing by students in Massachusetts in grades 8-12. Once selected, teens are paired with college mentors to help refine and revise their work for publication.

The Claremont Review: The International Magazine for Young Writers

The Telling Room.
"The Telling Room is a nonprofit writing center in Portland, Maine, dedicated to the idea that children and young adults are natural storytellers." They have an annual writing contest, publish a short story anthology, and show additional places to publish. |
One Teen Story
"One Teen Story is a literary magazine for teens and adults who read young adult fiction." Out of the 12 stories featured in each issue, 4 are written by teens. |
Canvas Literary Journal
The Canvas Literary Journal is a quarterly journal written and edited for teens by teens. They accept art and writing submissions. |
CICADA
